What's on your playlist?

I thought I’d toss out a list of my 10 all-time favorite walking songs for training walks.

  1. Lollipop - Mika - hilarious song and great beat

  2. Sneakernight - Vanessa Hudgens - awesome beat!

  3. Get Back - Demi Lovato - just because she has an amazing voice for a 16 year old, and the last 4 seconds are classic

  4. You’re so d@mn hot - OK Go - because I like to think of myself that way

  5. Rock the Casbah - the Clash - because I have an edge

  6. Me, Myself and I - de La Soul - hip hop at its best (tied with Bust a Move by Young MC, who coincidentally lived in my dorms at USC my freshman year :-))

  7. I could be Happy - altered images - reminds me of high school and I like the lyrics

  8. Somebody to Love - Queen - OMG the church of Freddy Mercury - amazing song to blast and sing along to on a very early morning walk (when no-one else is around, so they can't hear my very bad singing)

  9. Fool in the Rain - Led Zepplin - because this is my favorite band of all time and I love the drum part at the end (you know what I mean!)

  10. Life is a Highway - Tom Cochrane - because it reminds me of water skiing/camping with my youngest sister

  11. Green Light - John legend (with Andre 3000) - OK this had to go on this list because not only is the song great, it makes me thing of John Legend while I walk and let’s just say, ahh, YUMMY. Plus A3000’s rap at the end is hilarious.

yes, I know it is eclectic. and there are many, many, many more that would make the list. go give them a listen

Soooo - what are your favorites? and why?

Dream works artist helps bFORACURE

Great news for bFORACURE. Devin Crane a great artist has agreed to do a painting called bFORACURE. Here is his resume...
A native of Los Angeles, Devin Crane’s background is as diverse as the city he calls home. Devin has been a professional in the film industry for the past 15 years, lending his dynamic talents to Oscar nominated films such as Shrek 2 while working at Steven Spielberg Dreamworks film company and the acclaimed Iron Giant. The last 5 years Devin has shifted his artistic efforts to painting and exhibiting internationally. “I think my background in film gives my paintings a different edge. I want the images I create to stay with the viewer long after they leave my exhibit.” Devin Crane’s work captures the human condition giving his audience stolen moments that they can all relate to. His exaggerated forms, features, dynamic color and fashion pull in the viewer demanding a second look. Devin loves to incorporate fashion into his work. “The work of the great fashion designers of the past and present continue to inspire me.” Dior, Lagerfeld and Valentino are amongst Devin’s fashion heroes. Many of the dresses in Devin’s paintings are his own designs. His work has been featured in articles such as; Juxtapose Online, Imagine Magazine, and the I Am 8 Bit book. Devin’s work can be found in private collections across the globe from Los Angeles, Texas, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Hong Kong, and Rome. His first solo exhibit in Paris, France will be held at Gallerie Arludik on May 26, 2010.

KATHLEEN'S 3-DAY WALK BLOG - 8th training walk

WHERE TO TODAY?: Ocean Beach, via Golden Gate Park's JFK Drive. Then back on the N Judah.
STEPS: 13,668
LISTENING TO: Pocket Full of Rye by Agatha Christie

OK, I don't often have nice things to say about San Francisco weather. It's generally fairly dreary and way too cold for my liking. But TODAY, the best word I can think of for the weather is GLORIOUS!! I feel truly lucky to have been able to walk for a few hours through a beautiful park to the beach in this amazing weather. The air was warm and fresh, and the ocean was a rarely seen color of emerald green. The waves are breaking nicely today and there were surfers galore at Ocean Beach. My double cappuccino at the end of my walk tasted amazing too. All in all, a great walking day. Definitely makes up for the training days I do in the dark, or fog, or freezing rain!

Trying to think of ways I can raise my required funds for the walk. I'm only 25% there. Maybe a big BBQ in the middle of the summer? Selling some things on etsy.com? I'll keep posting here, or if you are interested, email me at sfmommy99@hotmail.com and I'll let you know!

Now, I've got to put my nose to the grindstone to find a job.

Have a great day!
